AA Tools & Engineering Group Ltd delivers high-precision contract manufacturing and subcontract machining services directly from our fully equipped workshop in Sheffield. Supporting Tier 1 engineering supply chains across South Yorkshire and the UK, we offer small-to-medium batch component machining, custom tooling production, and specialist finishing services.

Operating to strict ISO , our facility merges advanced multi-axis CNC machining centre's with a comprehensive manual grinding cell to guarantee micron-level tolerances on complex parts.

Advanced Multi-Axis CNC Machining Cell

Our CNC machining division is engineered for reduced setup times, repeatability, and the processing of complex components in tool steels, alloys, and exotics:

  • 5-Axis CNC Tool & Cutter Grinding

    • Machine: Walter Helitronic 5-Axis CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder

  • CNC Multi-Tasking Mill-Turn Lathe

    • Machine: DMG Mori NLX 2500 Mill-Turn CNC Lathe (with 10” Chuck)

  • 4-Axis CNC Vertical Milling Centre

      Specialised Industrial Grinding & Finishing Facility

We host one of the most versatile precision grinding cells in the Sheffield area, specializing in close-tolerance flat, round, and profiling applications:

  • Precision Optical Profile Grinding

    • Equipment: 3 x Wickman Optical Profile Grinders

    • Capabilities: Specialised microscopic-accuracy profile grinding for intricate form tools, stamping dies, template profiles, and high-wear components.

  • Precision Cylindrical Grinding

    • Equipment: 3 x Jones & Shipman Cylindrical Grinders

    • Capacity Limit: Maximum envelope up to 230mm Diameter (ø) x 900mm Length

    • Capabilities: Precise external and internal bore finishing for shafts, spindles, mandrels, and round mechanical components.

  • Precision Surface Grinding

    • Equipment: 3 x Jones & Shipman Surface Grinders (12” x 6” Magnetic Chucks)

    • Capabilities: High-flatness surface finishing, parallel face grinding, and skin-pass restoration on tool bodies, plates, and flat wear inserts.

  • Manual Tool & Cutter Grinding

    • Equipment: 5 x Manual Tool & Cutter Grinders

    • Capabilities: Agile, fast-turnaround custom re-sharpening, rapid relief modifications, and bespoke prototype profiling.

In-House 3D Design, CAM Programming & Fabrication Support

We provide full contract support from raw technical brief to final component validation:

  • Advanced 3D CAD/CAM Engineering: Utilising SolidWorks 3D Modelling and SolidCam CAM Programming, we accept models & drawing uploads to accelerate the design-to-production process, optimise toolpaths, and ensure error-free part machining.

  • Brazing & Post-Process Shotblasting: Complete in-house specialised tooling assembly, induction brazing of carbide tips to steel bodies, and high-efficiency shotblast surface texturing to prepare components for commercial PVD coating.
